The U.P. PARIKSHA NIYAMAK PRADHIKARI – i.e. The Uttar Pradesh Examination Regulatory Authority conducts the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test UPTET 2024 and 2025 under the aegis of the State Council of Educational Research and Training – UPBEB, as per the guidelines laid down by NCTE.
The UPTET 2024 and 2025 consists of two papers.
- Paper 1 is for aspirants who plan to teach classes 1-5
- Paper 2 is for aspirants who plan to teach classes 6-8
- Candidates who clear both the Papers 1 and 2 are eligible to teach across all classes from 1 to 8
The UPBEB issues eligibility certificates to all candidates who clear the respective papers of UPTET 2024 and 2025; and the certificate has a lifetime validity.
UPTET Papers I and II will have 150 MCQs, of which 30 MCQs will be from Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory).

- Stages of child development, physical development, mental development, emotional development, language development – development of expressive ability, creativity, and development of creative ability
- Basis of child development and factors influencing them – inheritance, environment (Family, Social, School, Language)
Meaning and principles of learning
- Meaning of learning, its affecting factors, Influential methods of learning
- Rules of learning – The main rules of learning of Thorndike’s and their importance in learning
- The key principles of learning and their practical utility in classroom teaching
- Principle of Thorndike’s Trail and error
- Pavlov’s relation theory of feedback
- Skinner’s action learning theory
- Kohler’s theory of understanding or Insight
- Vygotsky’s Theory of Learning Curve – Meaning and Type
- Meaning of plateau – cause and solution
Teaching and learning methods
- Meaning and purpose of teaching, communication, principles of teaching, sources of teaching, teaching methods, new methods of teaching (approach)
