As per a Government of Goa notification, persons desiring to be teachers in Classes I to VIII (Elementary Level) shall be required to qualify the Goa Teacher Eligibility Test GTET.
The GTET 2024 and 2025 will be conducted by the State Council of Educational Research and Training – SCERT, Goa.
GTET shall consist of Two papers: Paper-I for those who wish to be teachers in Classes 1 to 5 and Paper-II for those who wish to be teachers in Classes 6 – 8.
Child Development and Pedagogy will be a compulsory subject in the GTET 2024 and 2025 and there will be 30 CDP questions (MCQs) out of the 150 questions in Papers I and II respectively.
While the overall CDP syllabus for Papers I and II looks similar; the key difference is that the Paper I questions will focus more on the educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years, whereas in Paper II, the focus will be on the age group of 11-14 years.

a) Child Development (Primary School) – 10 Questions

- Principles of growth and development of children (up to 11 years)
- Causes of individual differences Heredity & Environment
- Social and Emotional development, Piaget’s stages of cognitive development
- Concepts of child-centered and progressive education
- Concept and types of Intelligence, Multiple Intelligence, Emotional Intelligence
- Measurement of Intelligence
- Concept of Personality, Development of Personality in Childhood
- Adjustment and Mental Health
b) Learning – 10 Questions

GTET 2024 and 2025 – Goa Teacher Eligibility Test official website
The date of Examination for both Paper I & Paper II of GTET will be announced by State Council of Educational Research & Training, Porvorim – Goa on their official website at https://scert.goa.gov.in.
Candidates should keep themselves updated about the official notifications regarding the eligibility criteria to appear in the test, the test structure, content, language, certification, applicability etc.
