The Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test PSTET 2024 and 2025 is conducted by the Punjab School Education Board as the eligibility test for appointment as a teacher in classes 1 to 8 in the State of Punjab.

The PSTET 2024 and 2025 consists of two papers.

  • PSTET Paper 1 is the eligibility test for appointment as a teacher for classes 1-5
  • PSTET Paper 2 is the eligibility test for appointment as a teacher for classes 6-8
  • Candidates who clear both the PSTET Papers 1 and 2 are eligible for appointment as a teacher for classes 1 to 8

PSTET Papers I and II will have 150 MCQs, of which 30 MCQs will be from CDP – Child Development & Pedagogy, which is a compulsory subject in this exam.

Child Development (Primary School Child): 15 Questions

  • Concept of development and its relationship with learning
  • Principles of the development of children
  • Influence of heredity & environment
  • Socialization processes: Social world & children (Teacher, Parents, Peers)
  • Piaget, Kohlberg, and Vygotsky: constructs and critical perspectives
  • Concepts of child-centered and progressive education
  • Critical perspective of the construct of intelligence
  • Multi-dimensional intelligence
  • Language & Thought
  • Gender as a social construct; gender roles, gender bias, and educational practice
  • Individual differences among learners, understanding differences based on diversity of language, caste, gender, community, religion, etc.
  • Distinction between assessment for learning and assessment of learning; school-based assessment, continuous & comprehensive evaluation: perspective and practice

Child Development (Elementary School Child): 15 Questions
