Chapter : 00:43 – Heredity & Environment

Heredity & Environment are the two most important factors influencing a Child’s Development. The contrast of Heredity and Environment can also be referred to as the Nature v. Nurture debate.

The Genes and the DNA are the carriers of Hereditary attributes.

Examples of Environmental factors include Food, Shelter, Family, Education.

Just like Zoology is the study of animals; and Botany is the study of Plants – Genetics is the study of Heredity.

Gregor Mendel – is considered to be the ‘Father of Modern Genetics’. He conducted experiments with Pea Plants – which are called ‘मटर’ in Hindi.
